Our Pregnancy

February 19, 2015: 14 weeks 1 day
Tonight we had an ultrasound and it was the first one on a VERY FULL bladder. The entire drive there and waiting to be called back was brutal! Then once I laid down and started watching the babies, I was so distracted that I forgot I had to go!
Baby A was photogenic as always. He/She gave us awesome profile images and videos of him/her jumping around. Baby A measured at 15w0d (ahead of where I am now), about 4oz, and heart rate of 153.
Baby B was very high, so it was harder to get good images. He/She was looking straight up, so the images that we did get looked a little freaky! Baby B measured at 14w1d (exactly how far along I am), about 3oz, and heart rate of 155.
It was so amazing to watch them wiggle, jump, and move around. We have our appointment with Dr. Anderson on Monday (Feb. 23) and he will go over the ultrasound more in depth with us then.
Oh, and Tyler started reading to the babies before bed each night. It is absolutely adorable. He is going to be the best daddy!

February 13, 2015: 13 weeks 2 days
Today we "went public!" I sent out an email at work with a special Valentine's Day message. The response was phenomenal. There were so many kind responses, hugs, and happy tears. I work with such amazing people!
We sent out Valentines to grandparents, aunts, and uncles yesterday. They should have received them today.
After work we shared the news on Facebook and Instagram.
We are truly blessed to have so many kind, caring, compassionate people in our lives who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers all this time. We hope that everyone continues to pray for a healthy full-term pregnancy for our little ones!

No more needles! No more pokes! No more bruises on my tush! Today was our last injection!

February 5, 2015: 12 weeks 1 day
Progesterone labs were great today at 32 after a week at 1.0ml! We will do 1 week of 0.5ml and then be done, YAYYY!

February 2, 2015: 11 weeks, 5 days
Today we had an appointment with Dr. Anderson. I was really uncomfortable with the length of time between our appointments, so I called and wanted to talk to Dr. Anderson about our concerns. His nurse, Connie, was amazing! She totally understood our concerns, phew! We were so nervous to tell Dr. Anderson. I didn't want him to think we had doubt in him, but between two and a half years of infertility, a first time pregnancy, AND it being multiples, I just needed reassurance. Much to our relief, Dr. Anderson was SO understanding. He said that we could come in as often as we would like. He even brought in the portable ultrasound machine and we got to see our little peanuts! Twin A was squirmy as usual, but this time Twin B was just bouncing around everywhere! Tyler said that Twin B must take after him! On the way out we made our next ultrasound appointment for February 19. We can't wait to see the babies again!

January 29, 2015: 11 weeks, 1 day
Progesterone level check! Since last week, we had been doing 0.5ml and I was hoping that the progesterone level would maintain and show that the placenta has now started to make it. I went down for labs early and that afternoon CRM called with my progesterone levels. She said they were still good, but I didn't feel to great about it. It dropped from 39 last week to 19 this week. Because of the drop, we will continue to do the shots and go back next week. The nurse recommended continuing the 0.5ml dosage, but I was uncomfortable with that since there was such a big drop from a week of 0.5ml already. I decided to do a little "self-doctoring" and we began doing 1.0ml for the week.

January 22, 2015: 10 weeks, 1 day
Today started with a trip to Minneapolis to check my progesterone level. After that I went to Becky's to visit with her and get some newborn snuggles from Weston. This afternoon I had our first OB appointment in Cambridge. We are seeing Dr. Ross Anderson. He seemed very calm, cool, and collected....for all who know me, that is the complete opposite of my personality! Hopefully he will be able to calm my crazy anxieties! The appointment went well, it was pretty much just a physical, and then he was able to find BOTH heartbeats!
This afternoon CRM called with lab results...drumroll please....39! We get to start weaning off of the shots at a dosage of 0.5ml. This was amazing news for my rear-end because the smaller the dosage, the less pain there is! Yippee!

YAY! It's still twins!
Progesterone level was 24 today. Still okay!

December 30, 2014: 6 weeks, 6 days
Ultrasound Day!
SURPRISE, IT'S TWINS! But, Twin B is about half the size of Twin A. We were told not to expect Twin B to survive. Twin A was measuring right on track. We will come back in about 2 weeks to see if Twin B is a fighter.
Progesterone level was improving and was 27 today.
Becky had her little one today, so on the way home we stopped at Mercy Hospital to meet Weston and share the twins news with Becky. She may have still been a little loopy from her pain killers, but she was very excited!

December 25, 2014: 6 weeks, 1 day
Merry Christmas! Today we shared the news with parents and siblings. We were able to record their responses and can't wait to share that with our munchkins one day!

December 15, 2014:  4 weeks, 5 days
Another labs check: Progesterone is up to 24! We're right where we should be. The placenta will begin to produce progesterone sometime between 9-12 weeks, so until then we will continue our daily injections!

December 10, 2014: 4 weeks, 0 days
Progesterone labs check up: Getting better, we're up to 14! Dosage was changed to 1.5ml.

December 8, 2014: 3 weeks, 5 days
We are at the end of the LONGEST two weeks of our lives.

I woke up at 3am (from what little sleep I got) and headed down to CRM for a blood pregnancy test. They call with results in the afternoon, and Tyler and I decided that I wouldn't answer, but let them leave a message so we could hear the news together. That was tough. I saw the phone ring, but I didn't answer it. I saw the voicemail notice, but didn't check it. I went home as fast as I could after work and waited for Tyler to get off work at 3:30. I heard his truck coming down the street, heard him back into the driveway, then heard him pull up the garbage can (really!?), oh and then go back down and get the recycling can (AHHHH!) Finally he came in and we listened to the message...

"CONGRATULATIONS!!!! But, you're progesterone is really low (mine was 5 and should have been 15-20) and we need you to start progesterone injections tonight."

Okay...So then we had to hustle down to the specialty pharmacy in Minneapolis before they closed at 5:30 to get the injectable, syringes, and needles. Phew, we made it! Now how do we do this? Tyler is like his dad and brother, and can't stand needles. We stopped at Becky's and asked her to help us out. She swore her to secrecy and couldn't tell anyone our good news, since we were only 3 weeks along at this point. We also made a stop at Tina's so that we had a back up person if Becky wasn't available.

First night of injections...OUCH! The needle is 1.5 inches long and goes all the way into the high muscle area of my tushie to inject 1.0ml of progesterone oil. I just had to remind myself that the pain is SO worth it!
